The following is a tentative timeline for the procurement of Professional Design Services as the “Lead Design Firm.”

The dates below are estimates and subject to change.

• January 2025 - The Request for Qualifications is released and advertised.
• February/March 2025 - Statement of Qualifications submissions are evaluated and scored.
• March 12, 2025 - Announcement of the three shortlisted firms: BNIM, Hoefer Welker Architecture, and HDR Architecture.
• April 3 & 4, 2025 - Interviews/Presentations from the three qualified firms.
• April 2025 - Score the presentations.
• April/May 2025 - A Request for Proposal is issued.
• June 2, 2025 - Architect/Engineer Request for Proposal issued to Qualification Based on Selection 1, HDR Architecture.
• June 12, 2025 - Architect/Engineer Pre-Proposal Meeting.
• June 30, 2025 - Anticipated draft of proposal expected.
• Mid July 2025 - Anticipated Agreement executed.
• Early August 2025 - Anticipated Release for Request for Qualification for Construction Manager at Risk expected.
• October 3, 2025 - Design consultant contract fully executed.
• October 14, 2025 - A design kick-off meeting at the Center for Behavioral Medicine (CBM). After the kick-off, the first programming meeting began, which included the design contractor HDR, CBM’s programming team, University Health’s programming team and OA-FMDC’s project management team.
• November 4, 2025 - Closing on the land conveyed from Kansas City.
• December 10, 2025 - Workshop #1 was held to begin discussions on programming, planning and conceptual design.  Team members include representatives from the Department of Mental Health, Office of Administration-Facilities, Management, Design & Construction, University Health, and HDR. Workshop #2 is scheduled for the last week of January.
• September 11, 2026 - The Request for State of Qualifications (RFQ) from qualified and interested companies to provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) services, within a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), for construction of a new Kansas City Behavioral Health Hospital was posted on the OA-FMDC webpage. • September 30, 2026, at 12:00 Noon - Anticipated Deadline for Questions.
• October 1, 2026 - Anticipated Distribution of Final Addendum.
• October 8, 2026 - Anticipated Statements of Qualifications due.
• October 15, 2026 - Anticipated Notification of Shortlisted Firms of the Interview Schedule.
• October 21 & 22, 2026 - Anticipated Interviews.
• October 26, 2026 - Anticipated Issuance of a Request for Proposal.
• November 10, 2026 at 12:00 Noon - Anticipated Deadline for Proposal.
• November 10, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. - Anticipated Apparent Successful Notifications.
